The under 10 year olds 2.5km race saw Quin Johnson finish just ahead of Toby Smit in 12:57 after running shoulder to shoulder down the final hill through a narrow pine tree trail.
Cooper Ronson was third followed by the first two girls, Vali Lawton, 13:26 and Emily Thomson and Arnya Burema in third place.
The rest of the competitors started together on the longer 3.3km lap, beginning with a slippery uphill and featuring plenty of challenges that make cross country so enjoyable. The course was laid out by Alister Martin from Striders.
Feilding Moa trio Samuel Phillips, 12:48, Luke Scott and David Martin lead the on e-lappers in. Girls 10-19 was won by Bella Ives narrowly from Hayley Cornwall with Lucy Evans in third.
Women did two laps, won by Juanita Paterson, 32:52, from Line Hermaton and Wendy Cottrell-Teahan. AJ Cornwall was the convincing winner of the mens 9.9km in 42:22. While further back the next two placing saw Dave Scott and Rob Dabb swap positions several times over the last lap, with Scott eventually managing to edge into second place by one second.
