Conditions were warm, sunny and firm underfoot. Events kicked off with the Mini-Moas doing 1km. It was then a mass start for everyone else doing between 2.5km and 7.5km.

Girls ruled in the 2.5km, with Hayley Cornwall and Tessa Webb first home in 9:53.

New member Alexander Hull won the 5km in 16:37 from Benjamin Wall in 16:55 – both excellent times. They, along with Tessa, will miss next weeks run as they are selected to represent Manawatu at the North Island Secondary School athletics champs at Inglewood.

Last seasons senior mens cross country and Road champion AJ Cornwall continued in the same vane, with fastest time for the three laps (7.5km).

Next Saturday, 7th April, is another run/walk on the same course, then the following week is the first Handicap cross country race of the season at Roger Woodruffes SH3 Awahuri farm.
