Another genuine cross country course today for the 63rd annual Woodruffe Cups, with trophies awarded on Handicap time finish. Sticky conditions in places – with a few competitors managing to get mud head to foot – but overall better running than was expected.

The Boys 2.75km was won by first-season member Lucas Allen with fastest overall time to Reuben Duker. The girls was won by Millie Evans, with older sister Lucy having the fastest time.
Luca Luoni was first colt across the line in the 5.5km, 28 seconds ahead of Andre Le-Pine Day, who being the first member to finish won the Cup. Tessa Webb won the Junior Womens trophy for the 4th year in a row from Kaela Drew.
The womens winner was Debra Arnold, supposedly in a warm-up run for the Manawatu Marathon at 7am the following morning. Fastest time went to Tamara Reed, with her husband Shane recording fastest time in theMens 8.25km.
On handicap, Sean Webb won the Cup with Paul Wasley in 2nd, chasing hard over the final lap but not quite enough to haul in Webb.
