Thatcher St\, Wanganui (near Castlecliff Beach.) \n1:oopm Start\nChampionship programme \n12:00pm Course marked and open to inspect\n1:00pmOpen Championship Walk 8km (4x 2km laps)Non championship Walk 4km (2x 2km laps)\nBoys & Girls U9 1km (1x 1km lap)Boys & Girls U14 3km (1x 1km lap\, then 1x 2km lap)\nGirls U16 3km (1x 1km lap\, then 1x 2km lap)Masters Women 35+ 5km (1x 1km lap\, then 2x 2km laps)\n  \n1:30pmBoys & Girls U12 2km (1x 2km lap)\nBoys U16 4km (2x 2km laps)\nJunior Women U18 4km (2x 2km laps)\nJunior Women U20 6km (3x 2km laps)Junior Men U18 6km (3x 2km laps)\nJunior Men U20 8km (4x 2km laps)Senior Women 8km (4x 2km laps)\nMasters Men 35+ 8km (4x 2km laps)\nSenior Men 10km (5x 2km laps)\n\n\n3:00pm (or after last finisher) Afternoon teaPrizegiving and afternoon tea will be held at WHC Club Rooms\, Victoria Park\, on Parsons Street\n  \nPlease bring a plate to share. \nAll ages (except masters athletes) are as at 31st December 2025 \nMasters Athletes: Your eligibility for 5-year age groups is per your age as of 19 July 2025  Results will be recorded in 5 year age groups e.g. W35-39\, W40-44\, W45-49 etc. \nRunning out of a grade: To compete in a grade different to your age group i.e.. running up a grade;  make a request to the Race Referee prior to the start otherwise it is assumed you will run in your age-grade \n1km and 2km course maps \nThe terrain is grass. The course is largely flat with the exception of one hill (17m ascent). The 1km lap crosses the hill once. The 2km lap crosses the hill twice. Where a short lap is noted as part of the distance\, this shall be completed first. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nTEAMS COMPETITION  \nAn inter-club competition will be held for each Championship grade.  All grades need 4 members to count\, or if no team has 4 then 3 members will form a team. \nAMW REPRESENTATION  \nThe Manawatu/Wanganui champs are a key selection race for athletes to be considered to represent Manawatu/Wanganui at the 2024 NZ Cross Country championships in Napier on the 3rd August 2024. \nPlease see one of the Centre Selectors\, Bill Twiss (FMoa)\, Dave Lovelock (PNAHC) or Paula Conder (WHAC) if you wish to be considered – you are responsible for entering yourself via the Athletics NZ website / Competitions page. \nIf you are unable to take part in the AMW Champs but wish to be considered in the team\, contact one of the selectors BEFORE this event.  The AMW team will be announced at prize giving. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
