DESCRIPTION:An out-and-back course starting and finishing beside the playground/tennis court at Halcombe and travelling along Mangaone Rd. \nFormat:  Open races for each grade for the Manawatu Wanganui championship \nentries close 7pm Friday 15 August:  ENTER HERE\nPROGRAMME OF EVENTS         All ages (except masters athletes) as at 31st December 2025                                            \nMidday                          Course marked and open to inspect \n1:00pm                          U20 Men                                                 8km                                        \n                                         Senior Men/women (20-34)               10km      \n                                         Masters Men 35-64                              10km                                      \n                                         Masters Men 65+                                    8km \n                                         Open Walk                                                10km \n                                         U18 Walk           5km (or non championship 5km for any others)   \n1:10pm                          Under 10 boys/girls                               2km                                     \n1:25pm                          Under 12 & U14 boys/girls                 3km        \n                                         Under 16 (and younger) Walk           3km \n1:45PM                          U16 boys and girls                                  5km        \n                                         U18 and U20 Women                           5km  \n                                         Masters Women 35+                             5km                                     \n                                         U18 Men run                                            6km   \n2:30PM                         Under 8 boys/girls                                 1km \nThe U8 course is a 1km looped course taking in the Halcombe Walkway. \n3:15pm Afternoon tea and results at Halcombe Rugby Club adjacent to the Finish line –  please bring a plate to share \nEligibility for certificates: Registered with Athletics NZ via an affiliated club within the Manawatu-Wanganui Centre for the 2025-26 season and must compete wearing official club uniform \nMasters Athletes: Your eligibility for 5-year age groups is per your age as of 16 August 2025  Results will be recorded in 5 year age groups e.g. W35-39\, W40-44\, W45-49 etc. \nRunning out of a grade: To compete in a grade different to your age group e.g. Master running as a Senior;  make a request to the Race Referee prior to the start otherwise it is assumed you will run in your grade \nChanging rooms/Toilets:   Available at Halcombe Rugby Club beside the start/finish \nSafety: There will be a first aid kit and Defib available at the Start/Finish. In the event of a serious injury on course athletes should render assistance and alert the nearest Marshall. \nSelection Race: These Manawatu/Wanganui championships are a key selection race for athletes to be considered to represent Manawatu/Wanganui at the 2025 NZ 10km Road championships at Cambridge 30 August. \nIf you are unable to take part in the Centre Champs but still wish to be considered for selection to the NZ champs please communicate the reason why and obtain an exemption from one of the selectors (Paula Conder\, Bill Twiss\, David Lovelock) BEFORE this event.  Failure to obtain such exemption may render the athlete ineligible for selection \n  \n
