SUMMARY:Windmill Hill Run
DESCRIPTION:Today we venture into the Tararua District for something a bit different and great views (if it’s not foggy) \nLocation: 27 Ballance Valley Rd (head over the Pahiatua Track and veer leftt at bottom of the hill towards Ballance. Watch out for the Sign of the Moa). You will park in the paddock opposite a woolshed. There will be signs from there guiding you to the Start –  which is on the opposite side of the Pahiatua Track road. Take care crossing the road. \nToday’s run is approx 6km (but will feel like 10!)\, travelling along farm tracks up to the top of the the hill – and down again! Can you make it up without stopping? \n\nthere will be a shorter trail for Minimoa’s and children\nalso a turn-off partway up the hill for a shorter (but still tough) 3.2km loop\n\n  \nStarts at 1.30pm. Afternoon tea follows at the woolshed by the start line. \nMinimoa 1.15km lap \nKids 7-13 yr  two x the Minimoa course \nEveryone else can choose from: \nMEDIUM 3.2km – 150 mteres elevation gain. Recommended for Colts and Junior women \nLONGER 6km –  with 287 metres of elevation gain on the way \nHealth & Safety: come prepared for significant changes in the weather the higher you climb. As a minimum a polyprop under your singlet plus a woolly beanie. And bring along wind/water proof jacket and gloves – you might be glad you did! \n  \n \n
