DESCRIPTION:Timona Park Clubrooms (access from Poole St)\nSTART 1.30pm. Suggest you arrive by 1pm to check out the course. Our Uniforms Co-ordinator will also have a selection of uniforms/singlets available to order/test for size \nSecond hand Table \nOut-grown your singlet? Shoes still with plenty of life but no longer fit? \nWe will have a table available for you to sell/give away your surplus gear. Price it yourself please/leave a note attached with your details \nDistances – run or walk \n1km or so for the Mini Moa’s (six and under\, though any 7 year olds are also welcome to start with this group if 2.5km seems too far) \n2.5KM Boys and girls 7-13 years \n5km senior/masters women\, junior women (14-19y)\, colts (14-17) walkers (2 laps)\, \nU20 senior/masters men and all men 20+ will do three laps (7.5km). \nHowever don’t let the distance put you off – feel free to do less or more laps depending on your own level of fitness. \nCost: no fee\, all welcome. DESCRIPTION:Our first taste for the season of traditional cross country\, running on farmland near Feilding.\nRaces start at 1.30pm. The undulating farm Course is marked out with orange flags and arrows. Where there are 2 markers run between them; where a single marker run within 5m (either side)  – or simply “follow the leader” \nDirections: Turn right from SH3 into the Mt Stewart-Halcombe Rd and look for the Moa sign 600 metres on the left \nDistances approximately  \nMini Moa (U7) 1km \nB/G 7-13\, 2.3km \nColts\, Junior women 4.5km \nWomen 20+\, masters 50+ & Walkers 4.5km \nOpen Men/Junior men 7km \nPlease bring something to share for Afternoon tea to be held in the shed afterwards \nNOTE: We respect the privileges of being able to run on a working farm such as this. DESCRIPTION:This event is the Official Opening of Manawatu Wanganui Athletics cross country season. A great event to involve all ages in either a 4 person relay team or the 2 person walk teams. All clubs welcome\nVenue is Wanganui Harrier Clubrooms\, Victoria Park\, Wanganui \nProgramme of Events \n1:00pm – Registration Open – team captains obtain race bibs\n1.30pm – 2 x 2km Relay Walk – Male & Female\n– 1km scratch race for runners\n1.45pm –   4 x 2km Relay Run – Female\, Male\, Mixed \nmembers Get your names to our Club Captain\,  who will be making up the teams. SUMMARY:73rd Woodruffe Cups Cross Country Race
DESCRIPTION: Woodruffe Cups are one of our longest held races\nThe venue is at 1831a SH3\, just before the Mt Stewart passing lanes \nDistances t.b.c \n1:30pm  Minimoa 1km\, \nBoys and Girls 7-13\, 2.5km\, \nWalkers  5km \nWomen\, Junior women\,  Colts –  U18 men 5km \nMen\, U20 men\, 7.5km \nRace Format: \nThis year is scratch race format \nThe instructions from Mr Woodruffe (Snr) when the cups were first established 72 years ago were to alternate with one year on handicap\, next year on fastest time. Woodruffe Cups for each grade this year will be awarded to the handicap winner in each grade \nWoodruffe History\nOur host farmer is Roger Woodruffe. Roger was just 11 years old when the first Woodruffe Cup took place and first ran for the club when at high school. Roger\,  81\, continues to run most of our races\, as well as being a full-time farmer with three farms to manage. Roger had to wait until 2013 before winning the Woodruffe Cup for the first time. \nHis older brother\, Lawrie\, who passed away earlier this year is a Life Member of the club. He won the Cup a record 8 times: 1960\,61\,62\, 64\, 1973\, 1976\, 1986\, 1994 – so an awesome 34 year span between his first and last win. \nOther multiple winners of the Senior Mens trophy are: \n6 wins S Galloway \n6 wins Nick Johnston \n3 wins Grant Christian\, Rob Dabb\, Andy Martin\, Reg Vautier \n  \n  \n
