EVENT FIRST AID 🩹⛑

• At each of our events we will have a first aid kit and an AED at the finish line

• If you see another person that needs some first aid please head back to finish to inform the committee members at the finish line. The person(s) at the finish line will then take control of the situation

• There will always be a cellphone at the finish line to call 111 if required. If you need to call 111 please tell them you are at a sports event, give your location as best you can and follow the instructions of the 111 operator

• At each event we’ll have a vehicle or 4WD vehicle (at our cross country events) which can be used to get to the person needing first aid (if they can’t make it back under their own steam)

• We have several medical professionals within the club and also several club members who hold current first aid certificates

• We are also lucky enough to have access to an AED (thanks to Rotary Club of Milson, Palmerston North) and we also have several members who have undergone training on the use of this piece of equipment

• In the first aid kit there is an ice pack which works by popping the plastic bag within the ice pack at which point the ice pack will become instantly cold

• We will list any hazards specific to a certain course on our event whiteboard at the start line. Please make a habit of reading this information each week.
