A small but enthusiastic crew braved the weather – and saw the rain cleared in time for our event.
Fastest around one lap (2.5km) was Kate Perkins. She didn’t write her time down on the finish sheet, but being just behind her I saw it as 10 min 37 secs.
Around the full 5km, Feilding Athletics club president Mark Searle clicked it out in 18:20 from Poppy Rae 18:30 and late-starter Reuben Duker 19:02.
Karis Rae and Dorota Starzak were closely matched throughout with Karis just gaining the edge in 19:58 to Dorota’s 20:01.
We had a number of pretty quick walkers with Andrew Shelley at 33:41 striding out strongly among the tail end of the runners
