3 July North Island XC, Taupo

Feilding Moa came away from the North Island cross country champs at Taupo with four bronze medals and our highest ever club placing of second, behind Olympic harriers and just ahead of our good friends Napier Harriers.

Our bronze medallists were Lucy McLean (U16) in the 3km in a time of 11:08.9. She was shoulder to shoulder in a three-way tussle for line honours with 80m to go – less than 1 second separating the three girls in the end.
Karis Rae got off to a fast start in the Masters women’s 5k, leading NZ’s top masters runner, Sally Gibbs through the first section. She hung on well to take bronze in the W45 grade, at 21:26, just 6 seconds off first place. Jo Speary made it three medals with a good run in the W60 grade of 26:27.
Dave Scott then capped things off in the M55 race, running 26:15.
