The Beaconsfield Valley Rd out and back course was the venue for this years club road champs. A great turnout with 100 runners and walkers enjoyed excellent conditions from the warm spring afternoon with just a gentle breeze.

Please note: to earn club champ status, club rules require that 2 club road races must have been completed in the same season. (this may include club-only races plus Halcombe Relay and AMW champs). This year we had a couple of instances where first across the line did not meet that minimum criteria meaning the title and trophy went to the next qualifying person

Men’s winner: Jonathan Meads from Rob Dabb (+12 sec) and Con Williams (+43 sec)
halfway splits for 10km
Bog thanks to Claire Scott and Karen Manninen for recording halfway splits. The course has around 90m elevation gain to halfway – and two-thirds of the field took advantage of this by coming home a bit faster.
Peter Turner and Mike Ives ran near equal splits. While Terry Walker’s near 3 minute negative split suggests he had more to give than he may have though in the first half
