Matarki Day is time for the Anderson Rally, a joint venture between Feilding Moa and Napier Harriers, with other clubs from around the lower North Island also invited.

The main lap will be around 2.5-3km, however a shorter version of 2km will also be used.

Under-8’s do a separate 1km course. Expect a range of contour from dead flat to hills and some traditional cross country obstacles such as steeples and gates plus a few unique to this course.

Anderson Rally History

The Dannevirke Rally began in 1934, but soon became commonly known as the Anderson Rally after one of the main sponsors.
Apart from a couple of breaks between 1942-1945 and late 70’s, it was held up until the late 1990’s, once one of the largest cross country events in NZ for many years with over 700 runners participating.

The Trophies (at least the ones we’ve found so far) read like a who’s who of NZ distance running greats.

Grade winners will be recognised with certificates and the Points winner of the Overall Club will be awarded the Turnbull Cup
